Ciù Ciù 'Oris' Falerio DOP 2020
Type: White Wine (Organic / Traditional Italian White Blend)
Region: Falerio dei Colli Ascolani DOP, Marche, Italy
Grapes: 50% Trebbiano, 30% Pecorino, 20% Passerina
Alcohol ABV: 13%
Tasting Profile and Key Notes
Aroma:
Fresh and elegant with aromas of white flowers, acacia blossom, jasmine, and citrus fruits. Notes of green apple, pear, white peach, and subtle tropical fruit are complemented by hints of fresh herbs and delicate mineral nuances, reflecting the coastal influence and limestone-rich soils of Marche.
Palate:
Light to medium-bodied, crisp, and refreshing with flavours of lemon, green apple, pear, and white peach. Bright acidity provides freshness, while Pecorino adds structure and minerality, Passerina contributes aromatic finesse, and Trebbiano brings balance and body. The finish is clean and slightly almond-like, with a gentle bitter note typical of Italian white varieties.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested manually from organically farmed vineyards and undergo gentle pressing before fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is aged on its fine lees in stainless steel to preserve freshness, aromatic purity, and the natural character of the native Marche grape varieties. Bottled with minimal intervention, Oris reflects Ciù Ciù’s focus on organic farming and traditional regional expression.
Farming
The vineyards are located in the hills around Offida and Ascoli Piceno, Marche, where vines benefit from a Mediterranean climate influenced by the nearby Adriatic Sea. The organically farmed vineyards are planted on clay and limestone soils, which contribute to the wine’s freshness, minerality, and elegant structure.
