Domaine de L’Octavin “Charlot” 2023

MYR 350.00

Type: Light Red Wine (Natural / Organic / Biodynamic / Minimal Intervention)

Region: Arbois, Jura, France

Grapes: Merlot, Molette, Muscat Blanc

Alcohol ABV: 12%

Tasting Profile and Key Notes

Aroma:
A highly aromatic and playful nose showing fresh wild strawberry, red cherry, raspberry, and cranberry, lifted by floral notes of violet, rose petal, and orange blossom. The Muscat brings an exotic perfume character, while Molette adds freshness and delicate herbal notes. Subtle earthy tones of forest floor, spice, and dried leaves provide complexity beneath the bright fruit profile.

Palate:
Light-bodied, juicy, and energetic with crunchy red berries, sour cherry, and pomegranate flavours. The palate is driven by refreshing acidity, soft tannins, and a delicate phenolic texture, creating a wine that feels both vibrant and elegant. The finish is clean, slightly savoury, and floral, with a lingering impression of fresh fruit and Jura minerality.

Winemaking

The grapes are hand-harvested from organically and biodynamically farmed vineyards and undergo whole-cluster fermentation with indigenous yeasts. The wine is macerated for approximately 30 days in tanks, allowing gentle extraction of colour, aroma, and texture. It is aged in tanks before bottling, with no fining, no filtration, and no added sulphur, following Alice Bouvot’s “pur jus” natural winemaking philosophy.

Farming

The fruit comes from vineyards around Arbois, Jura, planted on clay-limestone soils under organic and biodynamic practices. Domaine de L’Octavin focuses on living soils, biodiversity, and minimal vineyard intervention, allowing unusual grape varieties and blends to express the freshness and energy of Jura terroir.
