Foradori Teroldego Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT
Type: Red Wine (Natural / Biodynamic / Minimal Intervention)
Region: Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT, Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy
Grapes: 100% Teroldego
Alcohol ABV: 12.5%
Tasting Profile and Key Notes
Aroma:
A vibrant and expressive nose of wild blueberry, blackberry, sour cherry, and raspberry, layered with violet, dried herbs, black pepper, and subtle earthy notes. Hints of graphite, mineral freshness, and alpine forest character add complexity, reflecting the cool mountain influence of Trentino and the distinctive personality of Teroldego.
Palate:
Medium-bodied, energetic, and refined with bright acidity and silky tannins. The palate shows juicy dark berries, plum, and cherry fruit balanced by savoury notes of herbs, spice, and mineral tension. A fresh, elegant finish with fine structure makes it approachable young while retaining excellent ageing potential.
Winemaking
The grapes are hand-harvested from multiple parcels in Campo Rotaliano and fermented spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in cement tanks. Partial whole-cluster fermentation is used depending on the vintage, followed by ageing for around 12 months in large neutral oak casks and cement vessels to preserve freshness and purity. The wine is bottled with minimal intervention, without fining or filtration, with only a small addition of sulphur before bottling.
Farming
The vineyards are located in the Campo Rotaliano plain near Mezzolombardo, surrounded by the Dolomites, where Teroldego vines grow on ancient alluvial soils rich in sand, gravel, limestone, and river stones. Tenuta Foradori has practiced certified organic and biodynamic farming for many years, focusing on biodiversity, soil vitality, and expressing the unique character of each vineyard site.
