Pépin Pinot Gris NV
Type: Orange Wine (Natural / Zero-Sulfur)
Region: Alsace, France
Grapes: 100% Pinot Gris
Alcohol ABV: 12%
Tasting Profile and Key Notes
Aroma: Ripe pear, dried apricot, orange peel, white peach, chamomile, wild herbs, and delicate spice, with subtle hints of honey and tea leaves.
Palate: Dry, vibrant, and beautifully textured. Layers of stone fruit, preserved citrus, and orchard fruits are supported by bright acidity and gentle tannins from skin contact. A savoury mineral edge and lingering finish make it both refreshing and complex.
Winemaking
Organically grown Pinot Gris is hand-harvested and fermented with native yeasts using minimal-intervention methods. The grapes undergo a short period of skin maceration to extract colour, texture, and delicate tannins before ageing on fine lees in stainless steel tanks. The wine is bottled unfined, unfiltered, and without any added sulfur, preserving its purity and expressive character.
Farming
The grapes are sourced from certified organic vineyards across Alsace, where growers farm without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or insecticides. Healthy soils, low-intervention vineyard practices, and hand-harvesting allow the fruit to fully express the region's cool continental climate and diverse limestone and clay-rich terroirs, resulting in a wine with freshness, texture, and natural balance.
