Xiao Pu Perdue J MV 小圃 Perdue J 多年份黑皮诺
Type: Light Red Wine (Natural / Minimal Intervention / Multi-Vintage Pinot Noir)
Region: Ningxia, China
Grapes: 100% Pinot Noir
Alcohol ABV: 12.5%
Tasting Profile and Key Notes
Aroma:
A bright and expressive Pinot Noir with aromas of fresh strawberry, raspberry, red cherry, and cranberry. Layers of violet, dried rose petals, subtle earthiness, and gentle spice add complexity, while hints of leather and forest floor develop with air. The wine shows a delicate balance between youthful fruitiness and the savoury character often found in more traditional Pinot Noir expressions.
Palate:
Light to medium-bodied with a juicy, vibrant texture. The palate delivers flavours of red berries, cherry, plum skin, and pomegranate, supported by refreshing acidity and fine-grained tannins. A subtle savoury grip, earthy notes, and gentle spice provide structure, while the finish remains elegant, fresh, and highly drinkable.
Winemaking
Perdue J is part of Xiao Pu’s Pinot Noir series, with “J” referring to a younger, more fruit-driven expression. The wine is made through natural fermentation with indigenous yeasts, without acid or tannin adjustments, and undergoes natural malolactic fermentation. It is aged in older oak barrels and blended across vintages (MV) to create a consistent style focused on freshness, purity, and drinkability.
Farming
The grapes are sourced from Ningxia, one of China’s most important emerging wine regions, where dry continental conditions, intense sunlight, and large day-night temperature differences help Pinot Noir retain freshness and aromatic intensity. Xiao Pu works with different vineyard sites and growers across China, focusing on expressing terroir through minimal-intervention winemaking.
